League Realignment - FNSCzw - 04-29-2022

Hey All,

Just wanted to mention something I've done in solo mogul seasons and that is changing the make-up of the league. It is 2115 and other than some relocations things seem to have stayed the same in terms of division make-up (which is totally fine). Not sure if you all have tried to do anything like this in the past or not.

American Division - Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Expos, Blue Jays

National Division - Pirates, Orioles, Nationals, Phillies, Guardians

Patriot Division - Reds, Cubs, White Sox, Tigers, Brewers

Pacific Coast Division - Dodgers, Padres, Giants, Angels, Mariners

Frontier Division - Astros, Rangers, Athletics, Rockies, Diamondbacks

S&S (Sun and Snow) Division - Marlins, Braves, Cardinals, Royals, Twins

It isn't a true east/west split so not sure what you want to call each league. Ruth Division and Robinson Division.

Just some thoughts.

I think this would be straying too far from reality. I know we've made some changes, but they've either happened or have been rumored.

1. Moving to the Suburbs: A lot of FCM teams have built new stadiums away from the traditional city setting to generate a higher revenue. This has happened in the real world. The most obvious case to me is Atlanta moving to Cobb County (I believe the park is technically in Cumberland). Heck, years ago, the Cavs played in Richfield, OH (in between Cleveland and Akron). Teams build a stadium where the money is (or in the Cavs' case, where it's cheap to build).

2. Rays to Expos: This was allowed because Tampa had clearly the smallest budget in the league and the Expos were a real, defunct team. Just recently Tampa was trying to have a timeshare in Montreal.

3. A's to Las Vegas: Like the Rays/Expos, the A's have been rumored (and even encouraged by MLB) to consider options of moving the franchise, if they don't get a new stadium. Years ago, Las Vegas seemed taboo, but now the NFL and NHL now having teams in LV. It just seems inevitable until we have a MLB team there as well.

I appreciate the sentiment and the suggestion! Honestly, I could see that happening in baseball, but we try the best we can to mimic real life so it's easier on future recruiting.
