For Leake

Resignings for Players Without An Agent
This rule only applies to contracts signed in Dec 2015 or later.:

In order to renegotiate a contract the new contract must exceed the current deal in years, total value and annual value. Teams and, especially, player options will be considered in this decision. If you try to circumvent this you will be fined and the severity will depend on the amount of money remaining on the contract. Again, you cannot screw over the players because the AI has loopholes. This would be both a rule violation and a violation of the don't be an ass rule.

Skelton entered.

Ok cool so Skelton was entered. Does that rule apply to Leake when the season is over and we are in the re-signings period? I'm not sure if it does. If so, why was I allowed to sign Marmol to an extension in which he is receiving less annual value but more total value and more years?
C James Skelton

2nd offer - 3 years @ $4.3M
3rd offer - 3 years $4.6M

No the rule is only for in season extensions just to ensure we don't screw any players out of money

Ok cool. I think I'll get a better deal at the end of the season for Leake anyway, or at least somewhere close.

SP Mike Leake (I believe this to be legal since he gets more money than his current deal and it's for more years.)

1st offer - 3 years $7M per
2nd offer - 3 years $7.4M per
3rd offer - 3 years $7.7M per
4th offer - 3 years $8.1M per

Offer Accepted.
