TEX-WAS - Peter - 12-24-2013 WAS gets P John Schroyer 89 28 yo 15 mil 10 mil TEX gets SS Jernard Metrock 88 30 yo 6 mil P Connor Keppel 61/82 22 yo min i accept i have other options at SS and a need with pitching RE: TEX-WAS - warpriest - 12-24-2013 Texas agrees. Got a considerable upgrade at SS over Earl Pascoe who we can now send to the bench making it better, we are intrigued by Keppel and really needed to drop some cash. RE: TEX-WAS - mattynokes - 12-25-2013 The fact that Shroyer was just re-signed this July puts the kabosh on this deal. Now, I don't think there's intent, but... 1. Making a big commitment to a guy and then trading him away 4 months later isn't very realistic, a big reason why the S&T rule is in place. 2. The price he signed for with Texas is largely to do with him being happy in Texas and it could have varied greatly if it were another team. RE: TEX-WAS - AndyP - 12-25-2013 Both of these guys were just extended. The only way I'd allow this deal is if both GMs agree that the recent extensions are voided. RE: TEX-WAS - mattynokes - 12-25-2013 Since, both players are under 5 years of team control, we'll allow the extensions to be voided. If agreed to void the extensions, they will be returned to their previous arbitration deals and go through the arbitration process for their new deals. Their asking prices are as follows: SP John Shroyer - Asking $15.2M, can win at $12.0M SS Jernard Metrock - Asking $13.6M, can win at $10.0M This will allow the trade to be valid and will go through AFTER re-signings are done. This offer also comes with the restriction that they cannot be re-signed until next off-season. RE: TEX-WAS - jps93 - 12-25-2013 I approve if I hear from the GMs RE: TEX-WAS - warpriest - 12-25-2013 Texas agrees to the terms as laid out. We will not attempt to sign Metrick during the 2043 season. The cash outlay to Washington will be adjusted down to $10 Million.
