New Compensation - mattynokes - 11-23-2013

We've finally hashed out the details on the new compensation. It will be a trial run for a year or two before becoming official. I will NOT be changing the compensation rules until this one becomes official.

With that said, we will be using qualifying offers, much like actual MLB does, with our own twist. The picks that you lose for signing comp players will also slightly change.

1. Teams may make a fallback offer to any player with 6.000+ years of service time. Teams must choose between which compensation you want to attempt for, Type A or Type B.

2. Fallback salaries will be taken from opening day. Type A fallback will be an average of the top 150 salaries while Type B fallback will be an average of the top 450 salaries.

3. In your re-signings file, simply note you wish to offer fallback and which type you are trying for.

4a. Teams will lose a 5th round pick for signing a Type A player and will lose a 6th round pick for signing a Type B player.

4b. Regardless of compensation type, teams will lose your 5th and 6th round picks for signing two compensation players and will lose your 4th, 5th, and 6th round picks for signing three compensation players.

5. Teams can sign a maximum of three compensation players per off-season.
