ATL/TBR - kirbypuckett34 - 08-09-2012

TBR gets

Shawn Nuttle 3B 84 (24) $500K arb '32

Atl gets

Derek Jacoby 3B 81 $1.0M '32
James Wilson SP 61/87 (22) $500K arb '33

I accept. Get a young power hitting third baseman under team control for a few more seasons. Hate losing Wilson, but plan on getting more young pitching through trades and draft.

RE: ATL/TBR - bh1225 - 08-09-2012

We accept. Wilson is also hurt for 72 days, just to confirm I know of this. But we will wait and hope he can become the solid middle of the rotation guy for us in the future. Plus we think jacoby won't be much, if at all, of a decrease in production. Nuttle is another high power guy with bad contact. I've always had bad luck with those types, so I'll let him leave town.

Veto, Jacoby was just signed in Free Agency.

Dumb.. It's not like he purposely signed him to trade him. Plans change, and he is getting an upgrade at 3B. Who gives a shit if he just signed him. It's not like he's having a fire sale after signing a bunch of huge FAs.
After a signing, teams have control of that player. Just like real life. If they want to trade him, they should be able to. You act like he's goddamn untouchable since he was a free agent. Woopdy goddamn doo.

RE: ATL/TBR - mattynokes - 08-10-2012

No, we've left FA signings be dealt in the past. With acknowledgement that they were recently signed, the return being very little, and the player not being a big interest we let it go through. Intentional or not, this wasn't the case here.

And if you want to get realistic, trading a player that was just signed would do irreparable damage to the relationship between the agent and the signing team.

I have to agree with matty here, this one is clearly against the rules.
