Promoted To The Big Leagues - mattynokes - 08-06-2012

I feel obliged to say a little something on behalf of being promoted to admin.

Before DJ had to take a leave of absence he talked to me about potentially becoming and admin and the role I'd play. Without a confirmation I can't be 100% sure, but I would like to explain what I feel my role is here.

I do not want to sim. DJ knows this. Hokey knows this. I do not mind being a pinch hitter from time to time, but one of the reasons I no longer attempt to run a sim league myself is I don't have it in me to constantly set up the file. Like I said I don't mind it every once in awhile.

So what is my purpose here? A few seasons back DJ gave me mod privileges so that I could oversee things like FA and Waivers while clearing up any disputes. I've recently brought up some other, bigger issues to DJ and Hokey. They aren't anything to be concerned about, this league is doing well. But it's some tweaks to fine tune the league and make it more enjoyable for everyone.

I'd like to think of myself as always thinking for the better of the league with my ideas/suggestions. Like with the recent stadium effects. I initially felt re-calculating them would make the league better, but Peter made some good points and we will now be going a different route.

So, I believe my purpose as admin is to look out for the better of the league, suggest ways to improve certain areas when needed, and rule on disputes.

And now with the fiasco that's ensued on XAT I'm having second thoughts.

I love the league. It's one of the best that I've been in. But the petty bullshit needs to stop NOW! I nearly thought of leaving along with Sean since Hokey made an apology, agreed to change his attitude, and now reverts back to the same line of thinking.

The reason I decided to stay around is I feel like I can do some good for the league with the higher title. But it's came apparent the culture needs to change around. The constant drama. The constant putting others down. The idiocy. It needs to stop!

I think Hokey breaking his apology constitutes a punishment. I feel this is strike two. Being we're in the situation we are, we cannot ask (or demand) Hokey to step down.

Voiding Romero's contract, fining Florida $60M, and docking them a 2031 1st Round Pick is what I feel is a just punishment. Florida would not be able to acquire Romero for the remainder of his career.

I also feel that we need to find someone else to sim. I cannot be asked to do any of the simming on a regular basis and we need more than just Hokey to sim. If you are interested, please reply.

So, that is where I'm at. If things don't change, I'll walk. However, I feel we have a good enough core to continue many more great seasons. I want to see this league get back to being great, instead of feeling like an episode of MTV's Teen Mom.

agreed

If needed I would be willing to sim but if you want someone more experienced and that you have known longer I understand.

BTW I am indifferent on this whole situation I am not going to choose sides cause I really do not know what all transpired and I like Hokey and Sean.

Matt, the problems with the admins in this league are making it hard for GMs to have fun here. I personally cannot see FCM go down the drain not because of activity, but because of childish bullshit. Matt, I hope you take the admin job in the light that you might be able to save this league from itself. Matt, you are the chosen one. The fat of the galaxy is in your hands.

The Childish BS is from Admins not looking to correct the problem but instead blaming one part of it and not the whole thing. If you look at it from one perspective than the problem never gets fixed and this is why the problems are never going to be corrected as long as Nokes is admin as he has way to much of a trigger finger and never cares for understanding the situation

I think the new admins have done well.

I really don't understand where this "new admins" thing came from. The same people who have been running the show are still running it. It's just Matty and Andy have decided to change their title from Mod to Admin.

If this is the way you feel, then leave. You're already walking a tight rope as it is.

The childish part is you. You come on here looking to flame people, looking to create arguments. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of the attitude you bring and the way you treat the league. You're continually in the middle of controversy. You seriously just don't get it.

Well the difference is before Matty and Andy's views were listened to, but were not decision makers. Now they are. The only same person is Sean. I really don't understand how you did not understand the new admins part, but I guess it just comes back to what was said in XAT before.
