NYY/ATL waiver deal - bh1225 - 05-08-2012 get: LF Phil Smith 88 16.7M thru 2031 (32yo) [HURT 40 DAYS/REST OF YR] get: OF Greg Johnson 77/84 $draft thru arby 2031 (25yo) $500k cash Smith is a great hitter, while hurt the remainder of season. He has lost all hope in fielding and health. He is at the point of DH only. I am willing to risk this to help the team in the next year or 2 go far. Johnson is slow as shit and a not so great fielder, but could turn into a decent hitter.
