:CIN: Acquires
23 yo 1B/3B Jory Fernandez (83/93), Arb '16
37 yo IF Alex Rodriguez (88/88), $25M
27 yo SP Wade Davis (81/81), $450K
$33M in cash

:NYY: Acquires
22 yo SP Jeff Bishop (79/87), Arb '16
22 yo CF Donovan Tate (77/90), Arb '16
21 yo C Christian Betancourt (69/88), Arb '16
22 yo RP James Sneft (70/88), Arb '16

Have a glut of 1B in my farm system and have A-Ram available to take over at 3rd. I give up a guy better suited to his ballpark and enough cash to cover A-Rod through next season. Meanwhile, I get guys like Tate & Betancourt who are blocked on his team along with a pair of pitchers.

RE: NYY/Cin - jps93 - 09-02-2010

accept. arod still has it. he'll generate fan attendance and still produce. Tate's vitals are falling, sneft is my 3rd best RP spec, and betancourt is going nowhere behind bonilla.

And now acquiring fernandez I get a 1B to replace berkman if hosmer fails because he hasn't lived up to the hype. and kuczynski took a blow to his vitals, so this helps a lot.

RE: NYY/Cin - dejota - 09-02-2010

VETO cash still leaves CIN on the hook for nearly 75-80M over the next 4 years and he's giving up a big haul when he's rebuilding. He'd also have 0 payroll flexibility. I just couldn't justify any deal tying up half of CIN's payroll in one aging player.

RE: NYY/Cin - ezpkns34 - 09-02-2010

On the payroll idea, maybe I can pay Cincy $X per year, similar to how Texas picked up part of A-Rod's contract when they traded him to NYY?

As far as the spects, yeh check out those killer vitals on Tate & Sneft

RE: NYY/Cin - jps93 - 09-02-2010

ok we'll try to rework, if it works out, beautiful. if not, there's no crying in baseball. Thanks for the heads up DJ

RE: NYY/Cin - terrythek - 09-02-2010

yeah I veto as well I think if the yankees add in one more low 80's spec that should do, even taking out ARod and leaving it like that I would probably approve that

RE: NYY/Cin - ezpkns34 - 09-02-2010

Just a heads up that we're currently in talks to rework the deal. Looking like A-Rod likely won't be involved though

Reworked sans A-rod:
