RE: SP Jair Jurrjens - TYPE B - Corey - 11-04-2010 Anything that keeps pushing the contract I gave Doc further and further down the list of insane contracts is fine by me. RE: SP Jair Jurrjens - TYPE B - Cdawg - 11-05-2010 Jair has spent about a month every season for the last 3 years injured. He barely does anything to "bolster" your rotation. He's bottom of the rotation in K/9 and tops it in BB/9. His WHIP in the NL is about average w/ the rest of your rotation in the AL. The only major benefit is that he's a 53% GB pitcher. I beg to differ that he does anything more than win you 5-8 more games than the previous season. Plus a 15M 7 year contract will bankrupt you quicker than you think. You'll barely win out in the budget aspect of this deal alone. And that is if you don't bring in anyone else. RE: SP Jair Jurrjens - TYPE B - danpac47 - 11-05-2010 Say what you want, but that's stats from the past. I'm here looking towards the future. But anyway, I'm not clueless of how big a deal this is. I realize the financial risk, but I'm prepared for it. Some of us need Jair more than others, so I'm willing to make it happen. RE: SP Jair Jurrjens - TYPE B - Jordan - 11-07-2010 Done |
