RE: CIN/NYY - dejota - 12-13-2010

Need a really good explanation of how this makes sense for cin cin. He said he was going to renegotiate around his PO initially which infers that your calculations were moot.

Additionally if you want precedent it cost LAA their first rounder (top 10) Luis Gonzalez to get rid of basically a 22M contract. By contrast Youk is 90M. If you half 11M vs 45M

RE: CIN/NYY - ezpkns34 - 12-13-2010

Youk is still productive & has $68M left (not $90). As stated here, Youk will be of minimal cost to Cincy with the cash & loss of Pedroia's $12M, while only costing him a spect he had been trying to shop all last season (a season where he also inquired about Youk)

LAA accepting a bad deal to get rid of a bad player in Teix (.230/.300/.400 line, compared to Youk's .290/.400/.500 line) seems like an apples & oranges comparison to me. I'd compare Teixera's deal to the LAD deal for Pujols

RE: CIN/NYY - terrythek - 12-14-2010

i approve this, Youk is still productive and good, and with pedroia in the deal that makes it easier to approve
