Oakland//Toronto - Cdawg - 03-01-2012

Oakland trades
C emilio ignacio 26 86/86 4yr 5.0M

to toronto for
P kelly bowden 63/82 21 rookie contract
P James whitsfield 69/80 23 rookie contract

I agree. rebuilding and while I had intentions of keeping Ignacio(obviously w/o a competent replacement) a deal where I get two possible prospects is enticing.

Note: this deal could possibly fall under the sign and trade rule. in my interpretation he's signing an extension, but we'll let you guys decide.

RE: Oakland//Toronto - mattynokes - 03-01-2012

Under his current extension ($5M/4) it would be a sign and trade. Ignacio is eligible for 1.33 arbitration and that would be acceptable to trade him under that contract.

RE: Oakland//Toronto - AndyP - 03-01-2012

I'm ok with doing this however the league thinks is legit. Obviously we think Ignacio and McQueen are a great backstop combo and we'd love to have him join the squad.

So let us know what would work here please.

RE: Oakland//Toronto - hokeyrules - 03-01-2012

I approve.

Basically him being traded takes precedent over the extension as it has not been entered in the game yet.

So if Andy chooses to he can sign him to 1.33 or he can sign him long term, but the trade has to happen before the extension.

RE: Oakland//Toronto - mattynokes - 03-01-2012

I'll approve if it's 1.33 arbitration. It's a veto if Ignacio is allowed to be extended long-term. We have not allowed trades to happen before re-signings in the past and if we did it would be circumventing the rules.

agree with matty. approve

RE: Oakland//Toronto - hokeyrules - 03-01-2012

What I mean is he can sign him to the 1.33 arbitration and then sign him long term. I just didn't type out exactly what I meant.

RE: Oakland//Toronto - Atlbravesfan27 - 03-01-2012

approve

RE: Oakland//Toronto - AndyP - 03-01-2012

Yup, that's fine, I'll take him at 1.33M for this year and deal with longterm next year.

So what's going on w/ this?
